Criteria?” Presentation by Karen Youmans at 2021 FHIMA Annual Convention\n  \nKaren Youmans’ presentation at the 2021 FHIMA Annual Convention will focus on the necessary documentation and coding practices to fulfill the MEAT criteria for HCC chronic condition diagnoses assignment for Risk Adjustment. The presentation will provide a brief overview of the overall Risk Adjustment methodology for Medicare Advantage and the Principles of Risk Adjustment. In addition\, the CMS-HCC model’s structure will be covered. To show the practices in action\, various examples for adequate Risk Adjustment documentation (acceptable and unacceptable sources of data) will be provided\, along with detailed examples of chronic condition documentation utilizing the MEAT criteria. Karen will analyze clinical scenarios\, MEAT criteria\, Risk Adjustment Factors\, and HCC calculations.
