The Refresh With YES: PCS Root Operations – Bypass, Dilation and Replacement Learning Path teaches learners how to apply ICD-10-PCS codes for bypass, dilation and replacement procedures. Dilation and Byass are part of the “Procedures That Alter the Diameter/Route of a Tubular Body Part” Group. The learning series explores both the procedures that are performed in dilating body parts and procedures to reroute contents of body parts. The third root operation, replacement, is part of the “Procedures That Always Involve Devices” Group. Correct coding guidelines, definitions, methods, and Coding Clinic examples for these three root operations will also be reviewed.
