YES HIM Consulting Creates Lasting Connections at FHIMA 2022 Annual Convention
The Florida Health Information Management Association (FHIMA) 2022 Annual Convention was held at the JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa, July 17-20, 2022.
YES Team Members connected with numerous attendees in the Exhibit Hall, sharing information about our HIM services, career opportunities, and free Giveaway. The convention also provided a great opportunity to share information about a new educational program for which YES is now interviewing. To help mentor and train Inpatient coders for the real world, YES has teamed up with a large health system to provide an Inpatient Coder Graduate Development Program.
The 9- to 12-month program will provide a hands-on Inpatient coding education combined with real-world and practical mentoring from Inpatient coders and auditors with 20+ years’ experience. Upon completing the program, the trainee will have the opportunity to be integrated into a large healthcare facility, while improving their knowledge of clinical fields.
YES President and CEO Karen Youmans presented an educational session, titled “How to Make the Most of your Inpatient, Outpatient, and ProFee Coding Compliance Audits,” on Tuesday, July 19. During her presentation, Karen discussed the background history regarding coding compliance audits and AHIMA’s coding compliance policy. Attendees gained insights on the HCCA-OIG Compliance Program elements and how to use the data from compliance audits to their advantage.
