2019 Quad-State Annual Meeting & Exhibit

The 2019 Quad-State Annual Meeting & Exhibit will be held at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort and Convention Center, 10000 Beach Club Drive, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572, on May 5 – 8, 2019. The Quad-State Program Committee is soliciting speaker abstracts for 1- or 2-hour education sessions. Our theme for the 2019 Quad-State Annual Meeting is “Creating Connections for a Stronger Tomorrow.” The message here being we are 4 neighboring component state associations of AHIMA coming together to share knowledge and to network.

YES is excited to announce our attendance, as well as our plan to have our team members exhibit 3 different presentations:

Automated Coding Education and Reporting by Body System – Endocrine Diagnoses (Refresh with YES) By Vanessa Youmans, MA, RHIA, CCS, CPC and Mari E. Cely, MBA, PMP

This Technology showcase will provide an overview of an education platform for medical coding where everything is automated, including: course catalog review, registration, class, assessment, survey, automated CEU(s) certificate. Team Leads can have a clear overview of their team member’s progress and can create custom reports and alerts. A great series of webinars that YES HIM Consulting has created with the objective of providing learners with a practical approach to current hot topics, coding questions by body system and specialty, or updates regarding ICD-10 and CPT. This series is called Refresh with YES.

Project Management’s Role in Health Information Management – “A Coding Compliance Audit Case Study” By JJ Crumbley, MBA, PMP and Elizabeth Kelly, RHIA

This session will provide attendees with practical, project management key concepts that they can apply to their organization regardless of whether they have a dedicated project management team. It will share the project management techniques used to assess and improve the coding compliance audit functions of the company featured in the case study. Presenter will review why investing in project management capabilities is vital to increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of any program within your organization.

So You Think You Know ProFee Coding? By Vanessa Youmans, MA, CCS, CPC and Karen Youmans, MPA, RHIA, CCS

This presentation will describe the acquisition of a large medical group by a large hospital system with the lessons learned surrounding ProFee coding/billing practices versus hospital outpatient coding/billing practices. Many HIM professionals may assume that if they know the facility outpatient coding/billing processes that they will transition the ProFee coding/billing processes very easily. But there are many lessons learned in that transition. YES specializes in Coding Support services, so contact us today for help with ProFee coding, backlogs, and more!

Don’t forget to stop by booth #32 and visit us at the Quad-State Annual Meeting. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
