LHIMA Recap: YES COO Impresses with Presentation

Forging a bright future for YES, two Executives represented YES at the annual LHIMA Convention. The executives were Vanessa Youmans, COO, and Mari Cely, Director, Business Strategy & Client Services. The convention took place March 2-4, in New Orleans, LA. The tagline of the LHIMA Convention was: “Honoring the Past, Treasuring the Present, and Shaping the Future.” While attending the HIM convention, Vanessa and Mari focused on “shaping the future” of YES. This was done by meeting with members of the LHIMA chapter and connecting with potential clients.

LHIMA also presented the opportunity for Vanessa to showcase her team’s latest case study on coding quality improvement plans and standardization. The study aims to elevate coding accuracy to 99%. This presentation provided recent hospital acquisition trends and practical tactics for a coding team to reach optimal coding accuracy. Both Executives noted the valuable connections and case study presentation as two of the biggest highlights of the trip. This was in addition to taking in the history, ambiance, and sights of “The Big Easy.”
