YES 2019 Quad-State Conference Recap
YES 2019 Quad-State Conference Recap
YES attended the 2019 Quad-State Annual Meeting & Exhibit, which was held at the Hilton Beach Resort and Convention Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It was at this meeting that YES connected with HIM professionals spanning across the 4 neighboring component state associations of AHIMA (North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama). Not only were we corporate sponsors and booth exhibitors at the event, but members of the YES executive team presented on three different occasions. The YES Team of qualified, experienced HIM coding and auditing experts would love to discuss all our services and how we can help your healthcare organization realize growth. Presentation Recap
During the first day of the conference, Mari Cely (Director of Business Strategy) and Vanessa Youmans (Director of OP/Profee Coding & Auditing) gave a presentation on Automated Education with a Practical Approach. This Technology-specific showcase provided an overview of our education platform for medical coding where everything is automated, including: course catalog review, registration, class, assessment, survey, automated CEU(s) certificate after course completion. Attendees also learned about the series of refresher webinars that YES offers (Refresh with YES).
Exhibit Hall Booth
The following day, YES Directors manned our booth while connecting with other HIM professionals on the Quad-State showroom floor. Attendees who stopped by our booth were able to learn more about our company. While speaking to our knowledgeable staff on the large scope of services we have to offer. Attendees also were able to get hands-on with our new education platform. Using our iPad station to take a virtual tour of our education site and our user friendly online webinars. YES also held a raffle. Two lucky winners who entered their contact information were chosen at random to win some awesome prizes. And of course, we had plenty of YES gear for the attendees to take with them back home!
In addition, JJ Crumbley (Director of Project Management & Operations) and Elizabeth Kelly (Director of Auditing Services) presented their case study on Project Management’s Role in Health Information Management. This Quad-State session provided the audience with key project management concepts that can be applied to their organization. It also gave insight into project management techniques to assess and improve the coding compliance audit functions of the company featured in the case study. With the overall objective of convincing the audience why investing in project management capabilities is vital to increasing their organization’s effectiveness.
Presentations Continued
Wrapping up our teams presence at the Quad-State, Vanessa Youmans gave her second presentation, titled “So, You Think You Know Profee?” This presentation described the acquisition of a large medical group by a hospital system. With the lessons learned surrounding ProFee coding and billing practices. Detailing how many HIM professionals may mistakenly assume that if they know the facility outpatient coding/billing processes, they will transition the ProFee coding/billing processes very easily. When in reality, there are many differences in processes and lessons learned in that transition.
We had a great time representing YES at the Quad-State meeting and exhibit. We want to thank everyone who came and visited us at the conference. And thank you to everyone who followed our journey on social media!
