YES Director Receives Top Honor at FHIMA 2019

In July of 2019, YES HIM Consulting attended the 2019 Florida Health Information Management Association’s Annual Convention. FHIMA, the event holders, are an organization that supports and promotes health information management professionals by advancing best practices through education, technology, professional development, leadership, advocacy, and communication. A Membership Luncheon was held, where the FHIMA Scholarship and Service Award Winners were recognized. YES HIM Consulting’s very own Vanessa Youmans, VP of Coding Services, received a top honor at FHIMA, the FHIMA 2019 Outstanding New Professional Award.

Vanessa Youmans holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from St. John’s University. And a Master’s degree from New York University (NYU). Vanessa has contributed to YES HIM Consulting, Inc. since its inception in February 2007. She has assumed a number of roles including Data SME, Assistant Director of Coding Education Services, and Director of Outpatient and ProFee services. Ms. Youmans is a proud product of YES HIM Consulting, Inc. education, academies, and coder mentoring. She holds the Register Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), and AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer credentials. Vanessa is currently serving as Secretary for GCHIMA (Gulf Coast Health Information Management Association) 2019-2020.

During the convention, attendees who stopped by YES HIM Consulting’s booth were able to learn more about the company, its current projects, and open positions. Additionally, attendees were able to get a glimpse of the new education platform that YES is offering, where cutting-edge education has been made available to the public through user-friendly online webinars. The YES contest awards a winner, chosen at random, with a fantastic prize as a thank you for taking the time to visit with the company. Following suit from years past, YES had an abundance of great company-branded takeaways for attendees to bring with them back home.
