The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has posted the ICD-10-CM 2024 codes for use by all provider types, including Inpatient and Outpatient. The updates include 395 new codes and 25 deletions in 17 different chapters of ICD-10-CM.
CMS released the FY 2024 ICD-10-PCS file in June. With 78 new codes and five deletions, the total number of ICD-10-PCS codes for 2024 is 78,603. There were also 14 code title revisions. All these changes are effective on October 1, 2023.
CMS released the 2024 IPPS Proposed Rule on April 10, 2023. The Rule will be published in the Federal Register on May 1, 2023.
